Week in review: January 30

This week there are a few books you should be thinking about.

This week sees the release of WWE Forever #1. This book has two regular covers and a special Boom Studios unlocked ratio variant. If retailers ordered 15 or more copies they would unlock a special one-per store virgin variant cover. While this book currently does not have any sales online it is one to be keeping an eye out for. The regular cover is a $7.99 one-shot, so I wouldn’t expect many stores qualified for this variant.

Another book to be thinking about is the Spawn #293 Cover C variant. Diamond has issued a “misprint notice” to retailers. The notice does not ask retailers to pull the book and does not indicate that the book is recalled, however, it does mention retailers will be sent replacement correction copies. The misprint is that while the book was solicited to be a special black and white edition, some interior pages do have colour. Copies have sold for $15 to $20. Most Spawn and Mcfarlane oddities have long shelf lives – these are books I would be holding onto.

Another book that has been selling well online is the cover b to this weeks Wonder Woman. Woman Wonder #63 features a cover B by Karmome Shirahama. This book has been selling online for $10 to $13.

It is also worth noting that there has been one sale above cover price for Edgar Allan Poes Snifter of Terror issue 4. Like with previous issues of this series, this book has sold out before release. If this book is anything like the previous issues, interest for this book will drop off in a few days.
