Week in Review: January 12, 2021

We are now into the second week of 2021 and this week does not disappoint. Here are three new releases to be thinking about.

Haha #1 from Image Comics hits store this week. It is a six part mini-series from W. Maxwell Price – the writer of the incredibly popular Image comic book series, Ice Cream Man. The first issue of this series has several store variants that seem to be selling very well online. This issue has three regular covers – all of which seem to be selling for $10 to $15 online.

Coming out from DC Comics this week we have another slew of Future State books. This weeks Future State Teen Titans #1 has been getting a lot of attention the last few days from speculators and comic book readers. Key Collector indicated that this book has a first appearance on the last page – a character named Red X – a new character who is alleged to be the main villain appearing in the “Future State” event story-line. You can see this image below.

As of a result of this a lot of copies of this new book have been selling online. This book has three regular covers, however, only one of them has been selling for noteworthy prices – this is the Cover A.

One last book I wanted to highlight is the one in twenty-five variant cover for King in Black Gwenom vs Carnage #1. This variant cover features artwork by Inhyuk lee and has been selling for $70 to $120 – with prices trending upwards. Not unlike the first print of Amazing Spider-Man #55 from last week, this book has great potential to be a classic modern era comic book cover.
