Word?! Turtles – NOT DONATELLO!
This was mentioned on the CGC boards. I didn’t believe it, but now that other news websites are picking up on the news it must be true.
In this weeks issue of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, IDW’s TMNT #44, Donatello, regarded as the most intelligent of all the turtles has died in battle.
This book hasn’t really heated up yet but it will sell out at Diamond and go to a second printing and first print issue #44’s should go up in value.
There are three covers for this book a cover A, B and a variant 1:10 cover.
Another book that you should be looking for based on this is the original Mirage Donatello mini-series, Donatello #1 from 1986.
ALSO: Rise: Comics Against Bullying #1 from Northwest Press – a successful kickstarter funded project, has sold out at diamond and comes out this week. Another book with a lot of potential. (But as demonstrated with Face Value, most of these kid oriented comics have a very small window of opportunity – where holding onto copies hoping for an increased “investment” is dumb.)

What do think about the 4th Variant for #44 coming out at WV Comic Con April 11?
Pay the $25 VIP ticket and flip that bad boy ASAP. But, whose to say in 3 weeks, the heat from TMNT # 44 has died down…
I agree with Kyle. HOWEVER – the second market life for TMNT convention variants IS ALIVE AND WELL. A good example is the Niagra Falls TMNT Variant Cover. Sold at show for $10 – sold online for upwards of $80. AND THATS RAW.
A TMNT variant with nothing of importance happening. My advice would be to buy as many as you can at the con price. If your paying more than the con price I would avoid the book.
we all know he will be back…..they should leave him dead till next year then bring him back…..killing somebody off for a few issues is just stupid
