The recent Mighty Morphin Power Ranger Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles team-up comic book has been a real success for publishers IDW and Boom Studios. Now on its second issue – each issue has sold out on the week of release and recently Boom has announced all new second print covers – among these covers include a special ratio variant cover.

Boom Studios is taking a page out of Marvel’s playbook and offering ratio variants for the second printing of Mighty Morphin Power Ranger / Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1. This second printing has two regular covers including a Goni Montes helmet variant as well as a one in ten ratio Goni Montes helmet variant. The 1 in 10 variant has been preselling for $20 to $25. Final Order Cut off for this second print was January 13, 2020.

Boom is really pushing this mini-series – recently they had announced an all new character would be showing up in the pages of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers / Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #3 – A Green Ranger Shredder. From the recent press release put out from Boom, “Rita Repulsa faces off against Shredder for control of the weapon that will change the Power Rangers forever! No matter who wins, the world will never be the same! As the two villains battle, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers must find a way to storm the Foot Clan base to save Tommy, as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles step up to help their new allies in an unexpected way.”

I’m not sure if this character is going to be sticking around but Boom saying that this will “change the Power Ranger forever!” does give me hope for this new character. Boom also released design images of the character to promote the third issue in the mini-series.

It is worth mentioning that this new character does appear in the most recent issue, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers / Teenage Ninja Turtles #2, which shows Shredder’s transformation using the Dragon Power Coin to become the new Green Ranger character. This book would be considered a cameo first appearance – making the one per store variant for the second issue all that much more desirable.
