Week in Review: July 24

Welcome to the Week in Review – where we look at the books being released every week and highlight which ones have potential to heat up online.

So far it looks like the big winner from the 2019 San Diego Comic Con is What If #10 – featuring the first appearance of Jane Foster as Thor. While there are various books that have heated up over this past weekend there are still new releases that you should be made aware of. You can read our SDCC write ups here – Part 1 – Thor , Part 2 – Marvel Phase 4. This week there are two books that seem to be getting some attention online.

This week Guardians of the Galaxy #7 has been building a lot of buzz. This book was solicited as being the first part of the “death” of Rocket Racoon. There is a special PX Funko Variant cover for this issue that retailers receive copies of for each 6 Nova Funko Pop’s they ordered before the July 1 2019 deadline.  While the book has sold out at the retailer level – the two regular covers only have a few sales above the $3.99 cover price. The Funko variant has been selling for $20 to $30 and seems to be on the rise.

Another book that comes out this week that has been seeing a lot of attention is the 1 in 25 variant for the second printing of Marvel Comics Presents #6. We first discussed Marvel Comics Presents #6 and Wolverines many children here. This cover for the variant is the last page of the Marvel Comics Presents #6 comic book – featuring Wolverine and his newly discovered daughter. This book has been steadily selling for $80 to $100.

That is your week in review! Let me know in the comments (or on social media)  if I missed any books you think are spec worthy!
