Week in Review: July 10

Welcome to the Week in Review – where we look at the books being released every week and highlight which ones have potential to heat up online.

This week sees the release of the highly anticipated first issue of Second Coming. Second coming was originally solicited by DC comics than cancelled and pulled after online backlash that saw the creative team move to a publisher they felt more suited with the material – Ahoy Comics. Second Coming is about the second coming of Jesus Christ where God makes Jesus roommate with Earths mightiest super-hero. While this book is still available for cover price on many comic book store websites, this book has a handful of completed sales online ranging from $6 to $7.

Another book that has a few sales above its $3.99 cover price is the new image comic book Reaver #1. Reaver is a new comic book from Justin Jordan and Rebekah Isaacs. This book seems to be trending up. The other image series you should be thinking about is the new Cullen Bunn and Kyle Strahm series Unearth. Before Image started promoting Unearth #1 this title was called Down Fall and while the new #1 isn’t currently selling above its cover price, the original convention variant that features it’s first appearance has been selling for $60 to $80. Originally released in 2017 and limited to 150 copies The “Down Fall: Convention Teaser” is a book to put on your radar.

One last book to be looking for this week is the Wolverine Vs Blade Special #1 1 in 50 ratio variant cover. This book features beautifully painted artwork by Gabrielle Dell’Otto and has been selling online for $70 to $80.

That is your week in review! Let me know in the comments (or on social media)  if I missed any books you think are spec worthy!
