Week in Review: June 26

This week sees the return of everybody’s favorite duck crusader, Darkwing Duck. This week sees the release of IDW’s Disney Afternoon Giant issue #5. This is the first time Darkwing Duck has been published by IDW. This is a $5.99 book and it reuses the cover artwork from the 2010 Boom Studios Darkwing Duck #1.
Another book that comes out from IDW this week that has been getting a lot of attention online is Canto #1. IDW has had a string of hot books recently, this book seems like it could be another winner as its already selling above its $3.99 cover price, selling for $6 to $8. This book also has a 1 in 10 variant cover that has been selling in presale for around $20.
Another book that comes out this week that should be on your radar is Spider-Man Annual #1. This book is based around Spider-Ham and apparently features a few first appearances. The 1 in 50 variant cover has a handful of sales around $100. This is a book to be looking for – based on how Marvel uses these new characters this book could be the sleeper hit of the week.
One last book to be thinking about this week is the Source Point Press comic, Samurai Grandpa #1. This book is a four part mini-series and copies of issue #1 have been trending at a few dollars above cover price.
It’s also worth noting that Marvel released two new “blood splatter” secret variants this week. This week it is for Fantastic Four #11 and Amazing Spider-Man #24.
