Today there has been a rush to buy up all the available copies of Sandman #22. Why?

The Washington Post ran a review of the unreleased DC book, Dark Knights: Metal #1 – which is officially released this week. In the review (that included four full pages of the comic) was the spoiler that DC is bringing back the Sandman character. In the Metal universe the new Sandman is Daniel Hall.

Daniel Hall first appears in the Neil Gaiman sandman series as an infant. In Sandman #12, where Morpheus tells Lyta, Daniel’s pregnant mother, to go back to the world of living and raise her son. Morpheus also told Lyta that he would be coming back to take her son and reminds her to “raise him well”. In Sandman #22 Lyta has given birth and Morpheus visits her to tell her that her infants name is Daniel. This is Daniel’s first appearance outside of the womb. According to ebays completed listing search there have been 15+ sales of Sandman #22 just today.

This is a book could have great potential depending on how DC develops this story.
