Hello and welcome to the week in review on Comicbookspeculation.com – home of the original week in review – where we go over all of the hot books being released to comic book stores. Here are the books that I think are noteworthy that come out this week.

Punchline mania returns this week with the release of the highly anticipated, highly hyped up, Batman #92. This book has two regular covers (including an Artgerm cover B) as well as a one in twenty-five ratio design variant cover. This book features what is being pushed as the first “FULL” appearance of Punchline – a character that is rumored to be pushing Harley Quinn out of the DC comic universe. While there have been a few sales of the regular covers just above cover price – the 1 in 25 variant cover has been selling for $50 to $60.

Another long awaited book that comes out this week is Bitter Root #8. The previous two issues of Bitter Root had movie poster homage ratio variants that have sold very well on the secondary market – for this issue Image released a movie poster variant cover as an open order cover B. This cover features cover art in homage of the Prince film Purple Rain film (there is also a low print run store variant virgin cover of this same image offered by Frankies Comics). The trade dress cover B has been selling for $7 to $10.

One last book I want to talk about is the cover B for Batman’s Grave #7. This book features a beautifully painted Batman head-shot by Frank Quitely. While this book hasn’t sold out at the distribution level and is not selling above its cover price I think its well worth picking up for its cover art alone.
