Easter Oddball Special: UNEXPECTED #202 FROM 1980
.
I really miss the days of DC publishing horror comic books. DC and Marvel at one point had some of the greatest artists working in the comic book medium cranking out books to scare readers. One of these titles was DC’s Tales of the Unexpected or just Unexpected. Unexpected was a monthly horror anthology comic that conformed to the rules of the Comic Book Code. This book was created out of DC’s consolidation of three other monthly horror titles, The Witching Hour, House of Secrets and Doorway to Nightmare. The Unexpected title ran for 118 issues starting with issue #105 in 1968.

One of my favorite stories from this title comes from 1980’s Unexpected #202 which features a five page story titled “Hopping Down the Bunny Trail”. In this story three children get eaten by the Easter Bunny. This is also my favorite Easter related comic book story and this book has an incredible Easter Bunny cover. Read the five page story below.
