DC is getting ready for there all new Batman event The “Joker War”. The Joker War is a five issue story that takes place between Batman #95 and #100 which has multiple tie-in stories. The main story starts in May but the tie-in stories will start being released next week starting with – Nightwing #70.

While most of these books haven’t even been solicited yet next week’s Nightwing #70 has already sold out at the distribution level and DC has already offered a second print to retailers that will be released on April 1. This book will be the first appearance of the Joker War and while its already been announced that Batman #96 will include the first appearance of an all new Batman Villain, The Clown Hunter, copies of Nightwing #70 have started to heat up online selling for $20 to $30.

I’m not sure if this book will have any long term value – it all depends on how this new story line works out and fits within the DC universe. Now is a great time to be trying to secure copies of this book.

It is also worth mentioning that Batman #96, the first appearance of the newly announced Clown Hunter character, has not been solicited to retailers so now is also a great time to put in preorders for this issue – just don’t go overboard as most speculators and comic book stores will be ordering a large amount of copies of this issue.
