A few websites have reported on this today including screenrant and Murphy’s Universe – but this news originated on a website called “The Illuminerdi”. The Illuminerdi is reporting that the transgender Marvel character Sera will have a very large role in the upcoming Disney Plus Loki series. There were reports that this character would be appearing in the Thor Love and Thunder film but the Loki news is new development. While this is still an unconfirmed rumor, several copies of the first appearance of this character have sold online.

As of July 2019, Sera was the only transwoman character within the Marvel universe – she is an Anchorite – who are a small group of male, wingless Angels who were kept inside a temple in Haven, the Tenth Realm- this is where Sera stayed until she was saved by Angela. Sera first appears in Angela: Asgard’s Assassin #1 – published in December of 2014. This book had two regular covers as well as two high end ratio variant covers (1:100 and 1:50).

All four of these covers are currently selling very well online. The regular covers are selling for $10 to $20 while the ratio variants are selling well above their given ratios. These are great books to be looking for in the wild. Something else that is worth thinking about – if Sera does appear in this new Loki series – will Angela? How exactly will Sera fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and what characters if any will she bring with her?
