News came out yesterday from a few Hollywood insiders saying that a new casting call for the second Doctor Strange film was an indication that Brother Voodoo would be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Several comic book blogs have been reporting on this news but it is still in the unconfirmed rumor stage.

Another rumor involving the Doctor Strange film hit the internet a few days ago stating that Kamala Khan would be joining the film leading into a Disney Plus series – like with the Brother Vooodoo news – this is still an unconfirmed rumor.

Brother Voodoo first appears in the Marvel Universe in Strange Tales #169 from 1973. It has been hinted that Brother Voodoo would be making his way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe a few times over the last few years which has helped push up the value of his first appearance. Over the last two years Strange Tales #169 has been rocketing up – jumping from a CGC 9.6 2018 average sale price of $900 to a 12 month average price of $1322 – other graded copies have seen a similar sales pattern.

If this rumor is substantiated and more news comes out about this character appearing in Doctor Strange 2 this first appearance, Strange Tales #169, will only see more interest.
