For those asking “how many new Green Lantern characters do we need?” DC has an answer “More”. Earlier today DC released a trailer on youtube for their upcoming Green Lantern Legacy graphic novel and this looks like it could be big.

In recent days HBO and DC comics have announced their plans for the HBO Green Lantern series – stating that Sinestro will be playing a role as well as two unnamed Green Lantern characters. So its safe to say that in the current comic market climate jumping on Green Lantern first appearances would be a smart move. (Recent sales of Far Sector #1 are also a great indication that Green Lantern is a hot property at the moment)

Green Lantern Legacy is a graphic novel being released on January 21, 2020 featuring the first appearance of Tai Pham – a twelve year old Vietnamese-American who inherits his grandmothers Green Lantern ring (This book is also her first appearance) and is mentored in the Green Lantern Corps by fan favorite character John Stewart.

“Twelve-year-old Tai Pham lives in the apartment above his grandmother’s store, where his bedroom is crammed with sketchpads and comic books. But not even his most imaginative drawings could compare to the colorful adventure he’s about to embark on.

This book is written by Minh Le and features artwork by Andie Tong and based on the first appearances alone – this book is a great long term speculation play. This title was originally announced in 2018 as part of the DC Zoom! Line.
