Week In Review: December 18

.
Hello and welcome to the week in review on Comicbookspeculation.com – home of the original week in review – where we go over all of the hot books being released to comic book stores this week. Here are just some books that come out this week that I think are interesting.

.

This is another very light week in terms of speculation. As always, the comic companies usually slow down their publication schedules around the holiday season. The big book of the week seems to be the last issue of Doomsday Clock – Doomsday Clock #12.

Doomsday Clock #1 was published in November of 2017 and due to various delays the last issue is finally being released. This book has three covers including an all yellow “Blank” variant cover. In this issue Superman finally meets Dr. Manhattan and Geoff Johns promises that this finale “leads into everything”. I’m not sure what exactly that means but I do think this book has the potential for long term legs based on how it might fit into the DC Comic Universe.

Another book I’m looking forward to picking up is the first issue of the new Black Hammer spin-off series – Skulldigger and Skelton Boy #1. This book has two regular covers as well as a one in ten ratio variant cover that seems to be selling for just above $12. This would be the first comic book appearance of the Skulldigger character – who previously appeared in a one-page pin-up page in The World of Black Hammer #1.

Following the Marvel Action Spider-Man variant trend – this week sees the release of a one in ten variant cover for Marvel Action Spider-Man #12 by Jonboy Meyers that has already been selling well in presale online. This is another variant cover featuring Venom and Spider-Man and has sold for as much as $60 in presale.

One last ratio variant that has been selling well in presale is the Inhyuk Lee virgin one in fifty variant cover for Marvel Tales Annihilation #1. It looks like Marvel has stopped using Jen Bartel for these covers and has moved onto fan favorite Inhyuk Lee. This cover has been selling for $150+ on the secondary online market.
