Marvel released a new one-shot comic book this week within the 2099 universe and it already has speculators grasping for the high end ratio variant cover. This week saw the release of the new one-shot, Venom 2099 #1. This book features an all new character Alea Bell who ends up fusing with the Venom Symbiote becoming an all-new female Venom character.

Unlike the Old-Man Logan universe, the 2099 universe is the real future of the Marvel 616. This was revealed in The Amazing Spider-Man #34. (Legacy Issue #835).  This new venom character is featured on both the one in twenty-five variant cover as well as the cover B variant cover. While the one in twenty-five variant cover has been selling well over the past few days I would expect prices to sharply drop over the next few weeks.

One back-issue that has been seeing a lot of interest with the rejuvenation of the 2099 universe is the first appearance of the first Venom 2099 character. Venom 2099 first appears in Spider-Man 2099 #35 published in 1995. This book also had a variant cover.

The first Venom 2099 story-line ran from Spider-Man 2099 #35 to Spider-Man 2099 #38 and all of these books are great books to be looking for in dollar and bargain bins as they sell for upwards of $10 to $15. There are also variant covers featuring this Venom character for all of these issues.

Depending on how Marvel uses this new character all of these books could continue to see interest.
