News came out this week that Hulu has been developing the Clive Barker Books of Blood book series into a feature length film for the past year. There is already a full cast and Seth Mcfarlane and Brandon Braga – both from The Orville series, are heavily involved in the Book of Blood adaptation.

Clive Barker is a well known horror author and film-maker, best known for creating the Candyman and Hellraiser characters. His six part series Books of Blood was very popular upon its release in 1984. The Book of Blood is made up of various short stories all within the horror genre. In 1989 Eclipse Comics adapted many of the Book of Blood stories into the five part Tapping the Vein comic series. Tapping the Vein #1 to #5 are the first comic book appearances of the Books of Blood characters and stories. The first issue has two printings, a first printing with a gold foil logo and a second printing with a green foil logo.

These books can be found for under $3 each in the wild and depending on how this new Hulu series is received they are probably worth picking up.
