When Mythos Studios acquired a 50% stake in Aspen Comics in 2018 many wondered what it meant for the future of the Aspen Comic properties. Mythos, owned by Scooter Braun, founder of SB Projects, and David Maisel, founding Chairman of Marvel Studios, has announced that they intent on launching an animated Michael Turner Comic film universe starting with the Fathom and Soulfire properties. Kevin Adams and Joe Ksandra and going to direct both Fathom and Soulfire. Kristen Gore has been announced as the writer of the Fathom film while Bo Yeon Kim and Erika Lippoldt will be writing Soulfire.

Both of these books have had various volumes and both have numerous variant covers but I think the best books to look for are the first appearances of these two titles.

Soulfire is based around two characters – Grace and Malikai. Both of these characters first appeared in the first appearance of the Soulfire Comic Book – in the free supplement comic book included with Wizard World Magazine #139 published in March 2003. This book was later reprinted as the Soulfire Preview published by Aspen.

The first published appearance of Fathom was in the Top Cow Comics Fathom Preview published in 1998. This was the first creator owned series published by Michael Turner and it was eventually moved to Aspen Comics.

As more news comes out about these two films I think both of these books will continue to increase in value.
