Earlier today a rumor started making the rounds which was followed by an article by Discussing Films and a Key Collector app alert. While unconfirmed and still just a rumor – there are reports that the Image comic series Monstress is being developed as a series for HBO specifically aimed towards their new streaming service HBO Max.

Monstress is an image comics title that debuted in 2015. Monstress is written by Marjorie Liu and features artwork by Sana Takeda. Two weeks after its release, the first print of Monstress #1 sold out at the distributor level and started to sell well on the secondary market. The first issue went into three printings and all of these printings had relatively low print runs. All three of these books sell very well online with the standout being the Monstress #1 Second Print variant.

Most of the issues of Montress sell for well above their cover prices. Issue #2 for example averages for $10 while issues #9 and #11 are solid $15 books.

Based on this new unconfirmed rumor and based on past sales – All first print issues of Monstress are well worth picking up.
