When the code name was first introduced, Parallax was the supervillain identity for Green Lantern Hal Jordan. There is also a rare DCU variant for Green Lantern Volume 3 #50 which was only available in DC multi-packs.

This new Green Lantern: Blackstars mini-series is being written by Grant Morrison. Morrison is also the current writer on Green Lantern. Depending on how this new team is used its very possible it could be the next big thing in the Green Lantern Universe.
