Welcome to the Week in Review – where we look at the books being released every week and highlight which ones have potential to heat up online.

One book that got hot over the weekend is Venom First Host #3. This book started to see an increase of interest when someone told Donny Cates on twitter not to “forget about our beloved avocado baby” with an attached picture of the Sleeper suit.

Jimcomics posted a spoiler to the upcoming Venom #17 that shows the return of this character in this weeks Venom #17. Venom #17 is a book to watch especially the 1 in 25 Dave Johnson variant. Venom First Host #3 first prints have been selling for $15 to $20. There is a second print variant featuring the Sleeper Suit on the cover that has been selling closer to $40 to $50.

This week sees the release of the second print of the Boom Studios series Once and Future #1. Before it was released this book sold out in first and second print. Retailers were given a limited window to order this book and since the second printing has already sold out it has been selling well online. This book has been selling for $30 to $50 in presale online. This seems to be the big book of the week.

Another title that has sold out before its release and has been selling well online is House of X #3. This is no surprise coming off last week’s Power of X #3 – Jonathan Hickman continues to prove he is an underrated power house. This book has seven regular covers and one incentive variant. There have been a handful of sales for the Cover A and D for between $8 and $10 while the connecting cover has been selling for around $30. It will be interesting to see how long the Hickman hype lasts.

One book that is on my radar is Action Comics #1014 which is rumored to feature DC’s Naomi. Bendis did say he would be bringing his Naomi character to the pages of Action Comics he just didn’t specify when.

PS. I just want to give a big shout out to Nico and Sleepy Jawn for their help with the D23 article which I forgot to credit them on. They are amazing and you can read the article here.

Bleeding Cool, earlier in the summer made mention that Action Comics 1015 would be her debut in Metropolis.
