This has been a slow week for speculation but here are a few pieces of Hollywood related comic book news.

This week* a casting call went out for the Teen Titans live action TV show that revealed who the villain featured in the first season would be: Acolyte. Who? Acolyte is an obscure Young Justice character who first appearances in Young Justice #9 (1999, Volume 1).

*This story was broken by Thehashtagshow.com – who also gave the unconfirmed casting information for the Daredevil Season 3 villain – which means this is an unconfirmed rumor.

Last April it was announced that the Boys was being adapted for the small screen by Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg for Cinemax. This week Variety announced Goldberg and Rogan received a script order from Amazon with no mention of Cinemax – the director and script writers were also announced.  This has resulted in an increased interest in The Boys #1. 

The last piece of news is that the film adaptation of Joe Kelly’s Image series, I Kill Giants, premiered this week at the Toronto International Film Festival and received rave reviews. It shouldn’t be long before the world wide release dates will be announced.
