Week in Review December 14
This week saw the release of Atoll #1 – the second comic book about a predator shark in the last few weeks. (the other being White #1 from Devils Due). Atoll is written by Tim Daniel of Enormous and has sold out on diamond and almost all online retailers. Selling on ebay for $20 to $25. Atoll is published by Creative Mind Energy and could be at your local comic book store.
Another book that came out this week that you should be looking for is the high ratio variant of the new Transformers comic book Optimus Prime #1. The Optimus Prime #1 1:50 Paul Pope cover selling for $60 to $70. This is a book to be watching as transformers books are notorious for low print runs and have a large niche collecting market. This book should have long holding value.
The big comic book news that came out this week was that the Harley Quinn Suicide Squad spin-off film produced by and starring Margot Robbie would be titled Gotham City Sirens and featuring both Poison Ivy and Catwoman as Harley Quinn love interests.
The book Gotham City Sirens has exploded on ebay – raw copies of Gotham City Sirens #1 have sold for $50 to $90 with CGC 9.8 graded copies going for $190 to 250, with the J.G. Jones Variant $900 or best offer Buy it Now Auction selling just after the news broke – with the current lowest price copy sitting at $675. This is book that has always been pricey in comparison to other modern books however it can still be found in the wild for under ebay completed sale prices!
