The Power of a Tweet: X-O Manowar #1

.

John Cena is set to show up in the upcoming James Gunn Suicide Squad film but it looks like there is another Superhero he wants to bring to the silver screen. Earlier this week Cena posted a composition image of two X-O Manowar comic book panels.

This social media post has left people to speculate that John Cena is gunning for the lead role in a pending X-O Manowar adaptation which has pushed up prices on the characters first appearance. The Bloodshot film had very mixed reviews and the announced Harbinger War film is dead so I am not sure the validity of a possible X-O Manowar film or any future Valiant adaptations.

.
X-O Manowar, Aric of Dacia, first appeared in the 1992 Valiant book X-O Manowar #1 – written by Jim Shooter and Steve Englehart and featuring artwork by Bob Layton and Barry Windsor Smith.

While the 90 day sale average for CGC 9.8 copies of this book is $145 – in the last four days there are five sales of CGC 9.8 copies ranging from $180 to $200. Raw copies of this book have also jumped in sale prices online selling for an average of $20 just last week – this book has several sales over the last four days ranging from $35 to $50.

I don’t think this is a book you should be running out and looking for but I do think that if this is a book you already have its a great time to be selling.

What do you think about X-O Manowar and the man that you can’t see John Cena? Let me know in the comments or on social media!

  • Wow…first Vin Diesel and then John Cena??? I was really hoping Valiant would make a comeback of sorts, so that the box o’comics I have with like every important 90’s Valiant could go back up. lol But getting such terrible acting leads is only going to speed up the end of their universe before it even gets to really start. What a shame.
