In early December of 2019 It was announced that Robert Kirkman would be launching a new comic book series, Fire Power, with Chris Samnee and Matt Wilson on Free Comic Book Day 2020. Fire Power is a martial arts inspired comic series based around the character Owen Johnson – an adopted child who grows up and goes on a mission to learn more about his birth parents.  A few days after the series announcement ran in the New York Times, news came out that Skybound comics would release a Fire Power Prelude trade paperback to be released three days before the FCBD issue – which will launch this new on-going series.

Like with Robert Kirkman’s last on-going series, Oblivion Song, Skybound Comics has produced a retailer “Advance Edition” preview trade paperback – to allow retailers to see the actual Fire Power book while they can still order copies. This Advance Preview was sent to retailers this week and would be considered the first appearance of the series and characters.

As of right now no copies of this book have sold online. Now would be a great time to be asking your local comic book shop about what they plan to do with the copy they received. If this series takes off like so many Robert Kirkman written series have in the past – this would be the book to be going after.
