Hello and welcome to the week in review on Comicbookspeculation.com – home of the original week in review – where we go over all of the hot books being released to comic book stores this week. Here are just some books that come out this week that I think are interesting.

This is a very slow week for Wednesday Warrior related speculation – which is why you should skip this article and read my write up on the historic Swamp Thing #29 – the first DC Comic book to be removed from Comic Code approval since 1954!

This week’s Avengers #29 seems to be tracking up – while there are still copies available online at cover price – this book has seen a lot of copies sell online over the past few days. This book features the third part of the “Starbrand Reborn” story-line. This book features the first full appearance of a new character – War Widow – as well as the reintroduction of a Starbrand character, it isn’t clear if this is the first time this Starbrand character appears.

This week sees the release of the third print of Red Mother #1 as well as the all new second issue. Ross Richie, Founder & Chief Executive Officer of BOOM! Studios, announced on Instagram that the second issue has a “secret” variant cover (red logo). It isn’t clear what the ratio of this book is.

One last book that interests me this week is the one in ten variant for Marvel Action: Avengers #9. I’m not sure how many retailers are ordering these IDW / Marvel books or how many are ordering enough to qualify for these one in ten ratio variants – there also havn’t been any sales of this book on ebay and the only image of the cover I could find was from the artist’s social media page. This variant cover features artwork by Siobhan Kennan.
