This is a list of the Top 100 Modern Comics based on value – based on GPA CGC 9.8 90 day average sale prices. This list does not include variant covers, later printings or any kind of special variants including newsstand editions.

Rai #0 : This book features the first full appearance of Bloodshot which certifies it as a Valiant Comic universe key. There are two versions of this book a glossy paper version and a matte cover version. Both versions are recognized and indicated by CGC on the label. This book is currently on the rise, selling on a 12 month average of $177

In the 79th spot we have another Valiant Comics Key. Eternal Warrior #4 from 1992. This book features the first cameo appearance of the Bloodshot character. Although tied with Rai #0 – the 12 month average for this book is down at $177.

Next we have The Walking Dead #27. This book features the first appearance of the Governor – the first real bad guy introduced in the Walking Dead universe. Like most Walking Dead key issues this book has been on a downward spiral, hitting a 12 month average of $180

On the 77th spot we have Young Avengers #6. While this book features the very hot character Kate Bishop on cover and in story, this book also features the very first appearance of Cassie Land as Stature. This book has a 12 month average sale price of $187.

In the 76th spot is another classic modern book – 100 Bullets #1. This book was published by DC Comics under their Vertigo comics imprint. Its written by Brian Azzarello and features artwork by Eduardo Risso and it ran for 100 issues. A pretty big feat in this modern comic story telling climate. Sales of this book have been up, selling at a 12 month average of $187

Number 75Zombie Tramp Volume 3 #1 – this was the first non-self published issue of Zombie Tramp – the Dan Mendoza creator owned series. This book was published by Action Lab in 2014 and has been selling on a twelve month average of $188.

Number 74 –  Thor God of Thunder #6 – this book features the first appearance of Knull King of Symbiotes. This book started to gain traction when Donny Cates indicated how important Kull was in his recent run on Venom. This 2013 book has been selling at a 12 month average of $189.

Another book that has gone a big way in the last twelve months – Venom Sinner Takes All #3 takes the 73 spot. This book was published by Marvel Comics in 1995 and features the first appearance Anne Weying becoming She-Venom. This book has been selling at a 12 month average of $193.

Number 72 –  Ultimate Spider-Man #1. This book features the first appearance of “Ultimate Peter Parker” and various other characters. Marvel has been exploring alternate universe stories and films which has helped the performance of this book. This book has been selling at a 12 month average of $194 – down from last year.

Taking the 71th spot is Web of Spider-Man #188. This book was published in 1994 and features the first appearance of the Scarlet Spider, appearing as a costumed Ben Reilly. This book is up from last year, selling at a 12 month average of $197

The Number 70 spot is taken by Spawn #175 – the classic Gunslinger cover. This book comes from a period of very low distribution and low print run Spawn issues. This book has been selling at a 12 month average of $199.

Another Spawn book takes out 69th spot – Spawn #183. While like our previous book this book also has a lower print run than other Spawn issues, it also features the first appearance of Spawns Daughter, Morena. This book has been selling at a 12 month average of $199.

This classic Adam Hughes Catwoman mugshot cover takes out 68th spot. This book has been highly sought after modern key for some time. This book has been selling at a 12 month average of $211.

Venom Vs Carnage #2 from 2004 takes our 67th spot. This book features the first time Peter Mulligan becomes Toxin, which has become relevant with new Venom speculation. In CGC 9.8 this book has been selling at a 12 month average of $214 USD.

Number 66 – Another book that has started selling in recent months is Thor God of Thunder #25. This book features the first cameo appearance of the new Jane Foster Thor which has become relevant since the 2019 San Diego Comic Con where the Fourth film in the Thor franchise was announced as being based around Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster becoming Thor. This book has been selling at a 12 month average of $214 in CGC 9.8 condition.

Number 65 NYX #4 features the second appearance of one of Wolverines many children, X-23 and it takes our 65th position. This book was published by Marvel Comics in 2003 and has been selling at a 12 month average of $215.

Number 64 is Amazing Spider-Man #601. This book features a highly sought after J. Scott Campbell Mary Jane cover. This cover has been so popular it was even turned into a statue at one point. Over the last 12 months this book has been selling on average in CGC 9.8 condition for $217. Which is up from last year.

Number 63. Down from last year is Black Widow #1 published by Marvel Comics in 1999 and taking the 63rd spot on our list. This book features the first full appearance of Yelena Belova – who is appearing in the upcoming Black Widow Solo film being released on April 30, 2020. This book has been selling at a 12 month average of $218.

Taking our 62nd spot is Batman #635. This book features the first appearance of Jason Todd as the Red Hood. Published in 2005 – this book is down from last year selling on average for $218 over the past 90 days in CGC 9.8 condition .

Number 61. The Last book on days installment of our top 100 modern comics by value list is Spawn #184. This book takes the 61st spot on the list and it has been trending up in recent months. This book falls into part of the NYX / Spawn storyline and has been selling at a 90 day average price in CGC 9.8 of $220.
