Hollywood Spotlight: The Boys
The Boys was originally published in 2006 under the DC creator owned, Wildstorm label. The series is based around a team, “The Boys”, that police super-heroes (except the super-heroes are a lot more adult). DC cancelled the series after issue 6, for what Garth Ennis described as “anti-hero” content. The series was later continued by Dynamite Entertainment for its 72 issues and multiple mini-series. Last week, Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg announced they were working on adapting The Boys with Cinemax.
This happened after it was reported in October that they were shopping around the title. Here are the books to be looking for:
The Boys #1 – The First appearance of the Boys Team – as well as main characters Butcher and Wee Hughie.
The Boys #2 – The First appearance of the Frenchmen and the “female of the species”. (although they appear on the Cover of Issue #1)
The Boys # 3 – the first appearance of the seven.
The Boys #7 – the first appearance of The LEGEND.
The newly published Scout Comics series, Henchgirl, has a confirmed TV show on the way- with a rumored 2500 print run for issue #1. This was originally published independently in 2014 by creator Kristen Gudsnuk and the first series is near to impossible to find. With the new Scout Comic Series #1 selling for upwards of $50 to $60, imagine what the 2014 #1 would sell for.

FYI, seen an uptick in Superman: Lois & Clark run as well as American Alien
Top sale for 1 to 6 is $25 plus shipping. Which is pretty much $2 above cover price not including taxes. That 1 in 25 #1 variant seems nice, but doesnt have any sales above $40 – and the one sale of $50 is a CGC 9.8 copy. That book averaged $10 last month and still hasn’t hit above $40. I wouldnt expect big things unless the first appearance of Clark Kents dad gets more traction.
Thanks for the heads up on Henchgirl back in December. Ordered signed copies of the first two issues at cover price direct from the artist back then.

I am relatively new to collecting and selling comics, but once I got the itch I have gone in full blown. I was out digging and picking a couple months ago when I came across Henchgirl #1,2,3,4. I had never seen these versions before and happened to find a #1 of the Scout issue in this box, so I knew they had to be pretty rare! Turns out I found the original online issues of all 4 and they were all signed by Kristen Gudsnuk as well.
My question is in regards to selling the originals and if you had any insight into how to go about selling them online? I would greatly appreciate any guidance! All 4 issues are in VF shape at least and I have pictures if that would help! Thanks in advance and love your site.
